Four transition year students from St. Muredach's College in Ballina have scooped third prize in an international competition to design a Formula One car and race.
Paul Flynn, Enda Flanagan, Aaron Hannon and Robert Grimes from St. Muredach's College in Ballina competed against 146 teams from around the globe for the 'F1 in schools' world prize at the final in Singapore.
Principal Leo Golden paid tribute to the boys, telling the Irish Independent they put in a huge amount of work designing their own F1 race and miniature car powered by a compressed air cylinder.
